Today my section was like a geriatric ward although the adjacent section had younger people.

Were those younger people Thai? And by your estimation, how young was young?

Mostly European, 25-40.
3 Thai 20 - 25, in speedos.
My section had no one under 60.
Another reason fewer boys, they can't make money doing massage, blue shirt rule enforced.

Incidentally, I noticed a "Russian Sector" last month.

Go past the gay sections, past the empty section & there is a stretch with a Russian flag in front. I walked past a few times & most of them looked to be probable Russians or possible Russians. I didn't identify anyone who definitely wasn't Russian, put it that way.

That left about 2 nice polite Russians on our part of the gay section. Worked fine for me.

What purpose does this have?

Those who aren't Russian may well feel unwelcome, and well might they feel thus; I've not heard of flags being flown before.

Would you say the same thing about a Rainbow flag at the gay beach?

I have seen on Jomtien beach the Union Jack, Maple Leaf, Dutch flag, and until today a flag Americans could call "Old Glory".

Maybe that concessionaire simply flies the Russian flag to signal to prospective customers that they speak Russian? That would make sense, I think.

Just maybe it's there as a polite warning.
