Interesting to see that the penultimate holiday on the list has not yet been moved to the 28th of July.

Good point. I have a feeling it will be added as a holiday at some point. If it does get added during 2017, I'll certainly make sure it's posted.

The official mourning period for the late King is 1 year. Maybe it won't be added until after the mourning period is over. Perhaps there will be image changes on the currency too.

It seems your dates aren't right, or am I misreading the list?
Many bars were closed early tonight (10 Feb) because Mukka Buddha day is tomorrow 11
February.
They are closed tomorrow 11 Feb,until after midnight. As I understands it.
Why is Monday 13 listed ..presumably it's all over by then?

I think I now get it!
As the actual holiday fell on a weekend then the following Monday has been declared a Public Holiday.
However it still remains that bars closed early Friday 10 th and won't open Sat 11 th!
I think!!
But what about Monday 13 th as listed??

Monday will be a bank holiday, so banks will be closed. It's correctly listed as a substitute holiday for Makha Bucha Day, as it falls on a Saturday (today).

The alcohol sales ban, on the other hand, doesn't get postponed to the next working day, that's why it's in effect today and there will be no bar closures on Monday.

We should assume that the new government holidays will also be bank holidays, unless we hear otherwise.

Per the Bangkok Post -

Added: July 28 - His Majesty the King's birthday.
Added: Oct 13 - The passing of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX).
The cabinet also resolved to scrap the Oct 9, 1957 cabinet resolution that declared Coronation Day, May 5, a public holiday.

Reminder:

Monday, July 10 is a bank holiday. The banks will be closed, although even on bank holidays sometimes the mini-branches will be open. ATMs will be working.
