Pattaya Drainage Errors, Sea Polluted

Errors are found at South Pattaya drainage station. The problems led to severe environment problem of Pattaya sea.

PATTAYA – December 16,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; Pattaya reporters went to inspect South Pattaya drainage station after they were told that the system is really old and poor.

Especially, hydraulic system of water gate is damaged which has led the wasted water into sea. The villagers are afraid that this will give bad effect to environment and destroy image of Pattaya tourism.

Upon inspection there are 2 water gates which have been harshly washed by sea water. As a result, the gate are damaged and they aren’t tightly closed.

In addition, the grill which was installed to trap the garbage is also damaged. Sea water near drainage is polluted and some garbage are found nearby.

Even though Pattaya official reportedly sent the officers to solve the problem after they were complained the problem in May, the problem is still pending now.

Meanwhile, spokesman of Pattaya official said that Pattaya drainage system can only support 20% of overall wasted water in Pattaya. Pattaya people worry that this will lead to pollution in Pattaya sea in the near future and they need concerned sections to cope this problem urgently.
