Thank you for recommendations. I will check it out after I have moved and things calms down a little , just thinking about a dentist gives me a lot of stress.

I don't know anyone who just loves going to the dentist, but the dentists I've been to in Thailand have all been excellent, speak very good English, have the most modern equipment, and are competent. If you happen to be in Chiang Mai, there is even a dental hospital.

Dentistry at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital is not only excellent it is also reasonable.

My story from today: it had been discovered that there was decay underneath one of my crowned molars so I went to have the crown removed so that the damage could be examined. Maybe it could be fixed and a new crown installed, or maybe not.

The prosthodontist began by giving me a choice of crown types, ranging in total cost from 12,000 to 19,000 baht. This matches prices I've seen in ordinary dental shops. Then she removed the crown (always a bit of a struggle), did a bit of grinding, and pronounced the tooth's base as beyond redemption. Within 20 minutes they had gotten me in with an oral surgeon who removed the remainder of the tooth and then each of its three roots. This wasn't fun, to me kinda like waterboarding without the option to confess, but that's the way it is when you don't have a whole tooth to grasp with the pliers. It helped that the surgeon's nurse squeezed my hand throughout.

Anyway, the whole process took two specialists, more than an hour and forty minutes, and cost me only 2,300 baht. They could have done the much more costly crown and just shrugged next year when it failed but instead they did the right thing. I'm going to miss that molar but I'm glad I was at BHP.

I have heard that BPH has rip-off prices for foreigners , but maybe not the dentistry , I am willing to pay up to 20000 baht to fix my teeth .

I just read some nice reviews about Dr Nan , Jomtien , he is a specialist so I think maybe I will choose them .

I had a lot of Dental Work done at BPH and my primary dentist was Dr Tapasit. He has now opened his own practice. http://www.studiosmilethailand.com/OUR_DENTISTS.html

I am afraid over my long number of years I have had many dentists from LosAngeles to NYC , Montreal. etc.

Dr Tapasit stands head and shoulders above all of them . He speaks perfect English having lived in USA for may years . His new office has all the state of the art equipment and his prices more then fair. His office is across the street from Dusit Thani so very easy to reach by baht bus etc.

Dr. Tapasit is also my dentist and I would reccommend him to anyone. The communication is great and we used email alot. He was very good with the
details and what to expect. No surprises and very reasonable. Probably not the cheapest but I believe you get what you pay for and he is well worth the cost.

I realise that this is an old thread but I'm wondering if there are any updates as to peoples preferred dentists in Jomtien/Pattaya.

Studiosmilethailand.com seems to be the last practice of choice on here.....

I really should have some work done at Christmas.

As an aside, I prefer and appreciate it when people seek out and add to an old thread that's covering the same subject matter you want to post about. I believe it is pointless to let threads sit there just because they're months or even years old when they might contain information relevant and useful to people now. So I thank you for finding and adding to this thread.

That's the whole point of keeping old threads available. Without adding to old topics, as you did, there wouldn't be much point in keeping them if they're more than a few months old. They might as well be deleted.

As for your question, I would still suggest either StudioSmileThailand or Modern Smile.
