Re: Retirement visa news - and it's not good

Maybe when they go to immigration to submit their 90-day address report they will be informed and will have enough time, but there are also people who mail in their report. That would be nice of them to do, but I just did my 90 days a week ago and my retirement visa expires in January. No one menti...

Re: US Embassy Bangkok to stop issuing proof-of-income letters

I spoke with a friend today who went to Immigration in Jomtien and was informed that letters from US Embassy, issued prior to 1 January, will be honored for six months from day of issue. Also, still to be answered, is what will Immigration require as evidence of meeting the monthly income requireme...

I spoke with a friend today who went to Immigration in Jomtien and was informed that letters from US Embassy, issued prior to 1 January, will be honored for six months from day of issue. Good, this is what the US Embassy has been saying so it's always positive to hear the two (Pattaya Immigration) ...

Thank you. I missed them somehow. I'll try to find them next time.

Top shelf, if you are not tall you will have to ask for help. Looked like limited supply but I couldn't tell. I bought them at the Avenue store 6 weeks ago.

Re: New Villa Market store

Sorry RichLB. I looked for Fritos for you, but didn't see any. Fritos are on the very top shelf. No durian (darn) or russet potatoes. Agreed, a welcomed, very impressive addition to the food scene. Typical Villa pricing, big wine selection. Everyone very friendly, unlike the Avenue. No parking lot ...

Re: Pattaya's Best Burger

I was disappointed. I think the burgers at Steak & Co. are juicier and tastier. So are the burgers at Livv and at Havana. The people who ate with you there disagree. I will say If you order a burger "medium" there it is overcooked. I ordered it medium rare and it was medium but still ...

Re: ACH transfers from USA to Bangkok Bank -Alert!

The transfer I initiated on Oct 31, posted to my BB account at 2:20 this afternoon. $2100 = 69137 THB exchange rate was 33.28, I see no charge (yet) from BB. For reference, on October 31, the TW rate was 33.28, ATM was 33.18, and BB T/T rate was 33.0. Today the BB T/T is 32.82 if the BB had received...

Re: ACH transfers from USA to Bangkok Bank -Alert!

You can activate your TW account now and have a friend or family member send you a test amount. Changing a direct deposit can be more cumbersome than setting one up so allow enough time. As of early Monday morning I still have not received my money via TW which was initiated on October 31.

Re: retirement tips

I didn't know (or forgot) about Fidelity as I had a brokerage account with them years. For Americans, a list of bank debit and credit cards with recommendations that have no foreign transaction fees.
