Re: Another long standing bar bites the dust

Even those that have not been to Memories (Oud's Bar) recently may want to take the opportunity to try and stop by before the bar closes. It has served the community for many years (18?) and with Jack now 69 years old and Ralph 79 the closing will give them a chance to have a different social life, ...

Re: Another long standing bar bites the dust

A few years back, Oud, Ralph and Jack would close each year. Then Jack and Ralph took vacations traveling. Oud went on some with them it gave Oud a great opportunity. Jack plans incredible vacations. I have great respect for Ralph and Jack who came to Thailand to retire. Met Oud and together started...

Re: N Korea

Would it be a start to agree to officially declare an end of the Korean war, get a commitment from the USA to not to invade North Korea and lift sanctions nor seek a regime change, and a commitment from North Korea to halt and stop further expansion of its nuclear program? With continuing discussion...

March for our lives

Gaybutton suggested I post an email that I sent to several of my friends. The email is as follows: "I know some people do not like their email address attached to an email blast so I have not attached any. You all have heard about another shooting at another school, this time in Florida, that k...

Sunee Plaza fairly busy Feb 13, 2018

Even though I would not be called a frequent customer in Sunee Plaza, I do go a few times each month. Last night was my first visit to Winner Bar since the grand opening. I went in before 8:30 and surprised at the large number of dancers. Shortly afterwards more customers started to trickle in and s...

Re: Gulf Coast Hurricane: Why are the Effects so Catastrophic?

I lived in the Montrose area of Houston, Texas in the early 1980's was an enjoyable part of my life. This flooding is certainly tragic. Why don't all cities have better planning for disasters? My belief is that doing so costs a lot of money that developers won't pay. The United States is a collectio...

Re: The Smokin Pug Bangkok relocation

I do not know if The Smokin Pug has been relocated yet, but fortunately for me it was still next to Tawana Hotel when I was in Bangkok as it was walking distance from where I was staying. Their food is very good BBQ. We were seated at a table for 2 by the bar and did see 3 groups of people turned aw...

Re: Consequences of Trump's Win - 4

I am certain Trump said on many occasions, that on Day 1 he would repeal and replace the AHC act (now popularly called Obamacare). He promised that everyone would be covered at lower cost and it would be so easy to do. But the bill voted on and failed with the help of Republicans would have increase...
