Re: GB's Annual Songkran report - 2018

This afternoon around 2 pm, the boyfriend and I drove to Food Mart from Chaiyapruek along Jomtien Beach Road. Very light traffic and no splashing anywhere - not even along Jomtien Complex. It actually felt rather eerie.

Re: Pattaya Meals

Since this thread started I have been a regular customer of theirs. I have yet to be disappointed. The quality and prices can't be beat. The pizzas on their web page look different from the usual fare, but unfortunately they come with a very thin crust so not really to my taste. I hope we all do wha...

Re: Mosquitoes in Thailand

Just a fun bit of trivia...did you know that the mosquitoes you hear buzzing are not the ones that bite?

Re: Mosquitoes in Thailand

I've discovered a somewhat secret mosquito repellent. Avon sells something called "Skin So Soft". It is supposed to be a cosmetic to make your skin pretty and smells really nice. Surprisingly, it also repels mosquitoes. I think there is an Avon store near Big C on Sukhumvit, but not sure t...

Visa and Passport Question

I have to renew my retirement visa in April, but I noticed my passport expires in January 2019. How long must the passport be valid to renew your visa - I hope it's not one year. Also, when I renew the passport, how long does it take to get it back along with the various stamps, TM7, etc.? Does the ...

Re: Restaurant "Improvements"

In the hopes of reviving this thread, I've thought of another "improvement". When serving baked potatoes, it'd save my burnt fingers if the cook would remove the aluminum foil wrapper before the meal is served.

Re: Consequences of Trump's Win - 4

Perhaps it would be interesting to investigate where the NRA gets its millions of dollars. Given the amount of money they give to politicians I can't imagine membership dues would even begin to cover it.

Restaurant "Improvements"

In the hopes some restaurant owners/managers read this thread, I'd like us to offer up some suggestions which would improve the dining experience. Some places already implement some of these suggestions, but I'd like to see more. Users, please feel free to add stuff. * When serving bread, please pro...

Re: There's no fool like an old fool

Bob, you might want to check with your financial advisor. I, too, had never heard of "Transfer on Death", but, lo and behold, my account manager knew about it. In fact, since my US will's executor is getting pretty old, I called and asked my account manager if they'd be willing to be my ex...
