Health Benefits for US Veterans Living Abroad

I just stumbled across this program by accident. I am not a US veteran, but a friend of mine is and he has a service connected disability. Surprise, surprise - his medical expenses appear to be covered while abroad. The program is called FMP (Foreign Medical Program) and is administered by the VA. H...

Re: Maurizio Di Italiano

I sure concur with GB's review. The food is excellent and the service puts to shame most high end restaurants. I'm blown away at the memory of the Thai lady who serves us - she remembers past orders, is eager to make recommendations when asked, turns down the music to a pleasant level without being ...

Re: Black Faces

I suppose I must be insensitive. Sure, I see sporting black face next to a KKK costume as offensive - assuming the antics of the boys was not ridiculing the KKK member. But imitating Michael Jackson and wearing black face... Why is that racist? It seems to me that dressing up in Michael Jackson garb...

Re: New Immigration Requirement

Add these to the questions that, as yet, have no answers. 1. How does one verify that the 800K has remained in the bank 3 months after the visa extension is granted? Will this require an additional trip to Thai Immigration and the bank to present a letter testifying this? 2. And how about verifying ...

New Immigration Requirement

It seems Immigration now wants 800K baht to remain in the bank for 3 months after a visa extension is granted. After that withdrawals are allowed but the balance can't fall below 400K. The article is a bit confusing so my numbers may be off. Here is the URL: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1081671-...

Replacing desk chair casters

My computer desk chair no longer rolls. Does anyone know a place in Pattaya that can replace the casters (the little wheels) on the chair? Or, failing that, where I can buy a set of them and try to replace them myself?

Re: Certificate of Residency...Change

Hmm, just last week I renewed my retirement visa and the only proof of residence Immigration wanted was a letter from my condo stating that I rented a condo there.

Re: Retirement visa news - and it's not good

Maybe when they go to immigration to submit their 90-day address report they will be informed and will have enough time, but there are also people who mail in their report. That would be nice of them to do, but I just did my 90 days a week ago and my retirement visa expires in January. No one menti...

Fair enough question. I wouldn't rely on anyone's answers. Luckily, I use the 800k option, but I do wonder how Immigration plans to deal with these workarounds - if they've even considered them.

Re: Immigration and money - in a nutshell

For those wishing to use the 65K option, I have questions: 1. How many months before renewing the visa does one have to show the stream of 65K deposits? 2. For how many consecutive months must one show a deposit of 65K? 3. Couldn't someone deposit 65K at the first of the month, withdraw it the next ...
