Re: Thailand to Launch Satellite in August

I doubt if the Americans need much help there. More likely I reckon to spy on the red shirts! :D

Re: Thailand to Launch Satellite in August

I wonder what is the point of yet another satellite, however small, that takes pictures of our planet. Aren't there enough up there already?

Re: Ever wondered what happens to your condo trash?

Seeing aussie's photo reminded me of the huge mountains of trash - and mountain is a pretty accurate decription - I used to see every time I visited Manila in the 1980s and 90s. The pickers there, though, were young kids. It was a revolting sight. When I lived in Tokyo 25 years ago, there were very ...

Re: Florida High School Shooting and Gun Control

As mentioned in an earlier post, it has now come to light that the school's armed security guard stayed outside as the students inside were being murdered! He must have heard the shots, but he clearly froze. How many teachers if armed with some sort of weapon would similarly freeze? How many others ...

Re: It's the ONLY way to fly

I don’t think someone drying their knickers would put me off unduly. But I wonder how you keep farting? I guess the guy must have had some physical problem whereby he kept on swallowing air. If not worse is when the guy next to you takes off his shoes and suffers from bad foot odor. That happened on...

More on Immigration

Entry/Exit Times There was an interesting letter in the Bangkok Post a few days ago. The writer pointed out he had just returned form Jakarta. Going through Indonesian Immigration on departure took no more than 10 seconds and he was met with a smile and an "I hope you enjoyed your stay." T...

Re: When will Suvarnabhumi prepare for Global Warming?

It's fact that BKK has too few boarding gates. It's one problem of an overlong planning time, although greater than anticipated growth in traffic will have played a role. What really annoys me is that the AOT sits on its collective fat arse and does absolutely nothing about it. Every morning I go ou...

Re: The Philippines Next for Gay Marriage?

It will never happen in our lifetimes. The Church holds far too much sway over the lives of most Filipinos.
