Re: Thailand Resumes Executions in The Name of Peace

But in many cases, the answer is yes - it can be said the conviction is completely reliable. I wish I could agree. But in any country like Thailand where corruption is so ingrained it is part of the very fabric of life, my view is different. I realise the case has not yet come to court - and may ne...

Re: Thailand Resumes Executions in The Name of Peace

I think execution is the optimum solution, IF the person concerned has committed multiple brutal murders AND the conviction is completely reliable . . . Of course, on the other hand, if there is any element of corruption in the investigating or prosecuting bodies, then of course there is a risk of ...

Re: Consequences of Trump's Win - 5

Fox Creators Revolt as Fox News Condones Trump’s Immigration Policy Vanity Fair report. Might this be the start of a larger revolt within the Murdoch Empire? Certainly the avid support expressed by Fox News' resident harpies, Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter, were utterly disgusting and morally vile....

Re: Consequences of Trump's Win - 5

He divides us from our Allies, is Putin writing this script?l Putin and Xi are carving up the world with spectacular success! One wonders what will be Trump's position if Putin, having annexed Crimea with zero opposition, next makes a move on the Baltic States where there remain over a million natu...

Re: Soi Twilight to be Demolished in June/July for Redevelopment?

X-Size has taken over the old Heart Beat Club on soi Wall Street. It's called G Boys now. Heartbeat Club must have been closed for about 5 years or thereabouts. I wonder if the layout inside is the same now. I used to visit with friends and we liked the series of U-shaped booths on the right of the...

Re: Consequences of Trump's Win - 4

So the new swamp of Trump's own making has just reached new depths. A law suit has been launched by the New York State Attorney General's office alleging Trump and his three older children illegally used funds from the Trump Foundation, including making political donations and generally using it as ...

Re: N Korea

In an earlier post I suggested that in comparing the Trump/Kim meeting with the Chamberlain/Hitler 'peace in our time' meeting GB was not comparing like for like. I now take that back. Looking at what Trump has been saying and comparing it to the words of Chamberlain after Munich and what Kim has ac...

Re: N Korea

Firecat69 and I rarely agree on China, but in this case he is spot on. Having got rid of the regular joint US/South Korea military exercises, President Xi will be even happier than Kim. The return on his investment in letting Kim use his personal 747 has been huge. The statement from South Korea jus...
