Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

My brother-in-law, an international business man, noted that when Hong Kong sovereignty was returned, that Hong Kong would change China more than China changing HK. Economically he was right on the mark. That was a view held by many. It is also believed it was the reason Deng Xiao-ping proposed dur...

Re: I am sooooooooo stupid!!

There has been a practice in many bars for some years now to have a small almost hidden slip at the bottom of the bill folder. When change is returned, many patrons do not notice that two or three Bt. 10 coins have been inserted and take the rest of their change without checking. I would normally le...

Re: Which is the Best Dating App in Bangkok?

Which China are you referring to? Mainland China? Taiwan? Hong Kong? Sorry I missed that question - hence the late response. I was referring to mainland China. Quite a number of the many who have contacted me live in Shenzhen, This is just 45 minutes on the MRT from central Hong Kong, so easy to ge...

Re: I am sooooooooo stupid!!

Inaccurate bills are far from limited to go-go bars - although others are perhaps more due to carelessness than a deliberate action. There are three TOPS supermarkets quite near me which I visit regularly. Sometimes the marked price is not what appears on the bill. In each location I find I am charg...

Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

I fail to see the point of voting to impose sanctions if you're not going to enforce them fully - and that goes for the USA and any other UN member nation failing to enforce sanctions against North Korea or anywhere else. I completely agree. However I guess we have to accept that there will always ...

Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

I love the way firecat69, in his posts, simply cannot think outside an extremely narrow box, even when he admits he knows little of what he states and those very statements are frequently so outrageous he then has to admit some are not after all factual. He admits he knows virtually nothing about Ch...

Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

If China thinks the USA does not intend to place nuclear weapons on the peninsula, then what's their excuse for failing to keep its word and enforce the sanctions? I believe that question has already been answered. It is a fact that the USA wants China to solve the North Korean crisis - in large me...

Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

I have continued to visit HongKong and find the atmosphere in the city completely different since the Communists took HongKong back. I liked it a lot better when it was controlled by Capitalists instead of Communists. But most of the capitalists took their money and left before the Communists took ...

Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

Where are you getting the idea that the USA intends to place nuclear weapons on the Peninsula? I've neither seen nor heard any indication of that. And I doubt Russia and China would sit still for it. I don't think I have ever said the the US "intends" to place nukes on the Korean Peninsul...

Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

Why would China want to tolerate a nuclear capable North Korea? I have no idea other than it believes this is more acceptable than having US nuclear weapons on the Peninsula and therefore on its doorstep. You can also ask - but then no one seems to care about this: why would Russia tolerate a nucle...
