Re: Mid-Feb Trip Mini-Report

Yes I was, thanks for asking fountainhall. The friends I visit in Pattaya could only be there for the early part of my trip that I was going to try to use to get to CR so I had to change plans and the condo was already paid for for the latter part of the trip. I hope to make that CR trip in the futu...

Re: Mid-Feb Trip Mini-Report

Been there for years and always consistently good. Btw, I left a couple of places off. Elephant bar was great for bargain happy hour d...

Since I often enjoy reading trip reports I thought I’d try at least a short one as I usually haven’t much time to post. Here goes: Hot Weather On deplaning to get on a bus on the tarmac to the terminal I got three steps down the stairs and thought “Wow, feels like summer”. This was a continual thoug...

Re: Chiang Rai

Anyone know any good medium or so priced hotels in Chiang Rai where you can bring guests?

Utopia lists only two and neither sound appealing. Google searches turn up nothing else.

Re: Suvarnabhumi two hour layover to catch a flight – too risky?

I wouldn't worry about that. If your luggage doesn't make it all you have to do is go to the lost luggage office, tell them where you're staying, and they'll deliver your luggage by the next day - sometimes even the same day. Re: Suvarnabhumi two hour layover to catch a flight – too risky?

Here’s the latest update for anyone still following this thread. I went to the local Thai Airways office to find out my options. The very helpful lady there said if I purchase a second Thai Smile ticket I should bring both tickets when I check-in for the first and they will send my luggage on to Chi...

Dodger wrote: Mai Sai is one hour north and I believe they have maintains and temples there as well. although I can't remember (I seem to recall a big river) because I was totally focused on the hill tribe boys. Sounds attractive on many levels. Thanks Dodger. If you already have a boy lined up you ...
