Re: Pattaya New Terminal 21 Walkthru

We went to T21 yesterday just after 11am. No problem with congestion or parking. I only went to check out the food on offer, and was glad to see Nara. This is the high-end Thai food restaurant that we liked in the basement of the Grand Hyatt Erawan. I'll go back again some day, probably try the plac...

Re: New Villa Market store

Stopped by the new store this morning. Very pleasantly surprised.

But sorry, GB, I totally forgot to check for corned beef hash. I did treat myself to a bag of Fritos, and a tub of Philadelphia cream cheese for scooping them into. And no, I'm not suicidal.

Re: New Villa Market store

I once sent Villa Market an email regarding an American brand of sausages that had disappeared from their store at The Avenue. They responded within a day with an interesting explanation of their difficulties in sourcing that brand and said they were still hoping to work something out. Two weeks lat...

Re: The Dead and Dying Malls of Pattaya

I've been ordering from Lazada for 2 or 3 years now. Most often it's stuff that might be available in Bangkok but not in Pattaya. Never had an issue of any kind. Some items have arrived in 48 hours. If they send you the wrong item you can take it to 7-11 to be returned to the vendor. Payment would b...

Strange but true: the seasoning for the first extension is sixty days but for subsequent extensions it's three months, not ninety days. :|

It's odd but that's the way it is, and occasionally it messes someone up.

Re: Immigration and money - in a nutshell

...under various tourist visas and the 30 day privilege, it is still possible to live in Thailand up to 180 days per year - half a year. There is no specific rule about 180 days. With a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa from your home country, you could -- with two border runs 90 days apart plus two 30 d...

Re: ACH transfers from USA to Bangkok Bank -Alert!

"A few years ago, Singapore was an offshore-banking friendly nation. However, as of 2016, it has become increasingly difficult for non-millionaires to get accounts in Singapore if they are not working, studying or living there." I suspect that in 2016 Singapore law was revised to include a...

It's great that you have an account at DBS but I'm thinking that at one time you must have had Singapore residency. Do you know of any way to avoid that requirement ?
