Re: American Bar and Grill Bangkok

Terminal 21, Asoke. http://www.tonyromas-mms.com/en/?q=bangkok I don't like Tony Roma's. The chain started in Miami and I went to the original and never liked it. Someone must like it, it grew as a franchise. I don't notice a lot of customers in the Bangkok branch. For southern American style BBQ th...

Re: American Bar and Grill Bangkok

The American Bar and Grill has closed. The building demolished. Several sections of Sukhumvit 8 on both sides of the street have been demolished for urban gentrification. First there was Woodstock American restaurant, then it closed and there was Duke's and then it closed. Now there's nothing in the...

Re: The Banana Men's Club Bangkok?

Perhaps if you had walked a little further down the soi to Hero you might have had a different experience. It's not possible to draw conclusions based on a single visit. No place is 100% consistent and it really just comes down to the luck of the draw. That is until you get to know some of the worke...

Re: The Banana Men's Club Bangkok?

its prices had gone up too much. 700B one hour 600 for local residents and 1000 min tip. About average. Quite a bargain compared to soi Twilight go-go bar prices. Just a short time room at BBB alone sets you back 650B. Two drinks at 450B average and off fee, 600-700 and we've not even come to the p...

The Banana Men's Club Bangkok?

I think that it's finished as a gay massage venue. I walked in a few months ago and was met at the door by one of the staff, not Kaven, the manager. This guy must have recognized me as a regular. He held up his arms in an X and said, "finish". I was not sure if he meant the venue was no lo...

Chiang Rai

From another thread: How about some examples of what you enjoy seeing and doing in Chiang Rai. If someone is interested in seeing a lot of temples, then Chiang Rai would be very interesting and worth a trip. Other than that, I don't know of anything of particular interest. The only temple that comes...

I'll consider a post on what to do and see in Chiang Rai province but as a new topic.

Re: Suvarnabhumi two hour layover to catch a flight – too risky?

totally agree on giving up on BKK..Having been to Chiang Rai you best give up on that too! The Pattaya focused centricity of this board (and the others) knows no bounds. I like Chiang Rai and go there often. There's lots to do and see. It's not a commercial sex entertainment center like Pattaya but...

Thi Lor Su Waterfalls, Umphang, Tak

Thi Lor Su (Tee-lor-su) waterfalls is in the Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary of Tak province. It's the largest and highest waterfall in Thailand. Umphang is around a 6 hour road trip from Mai Sot along a very mountainous and winding road. The entrance to the National park is 30km from Umphang and then an...
