Re: Do you like to have a beer or cocktail on the beach? Forget it . . .

Whilst I would prefer freedom of choice for the individual, consuming alcohol so early in the day isn't my idea of how to make the best use of the day. However, the authorities really should not interfere in these matters. Particularly not without evidence of regular disruptive behaviour from excess...

Re: Favourite places in Pattaya

Walking through the temple is a good short cut. I quite like the Tuk Com area as a base, since it's got pretty much everything you need & the area behind Tuk Com is rather quiet. The Gafae coffee shop is a pleasant place for breakfast & even the Starbucks upstairs lounge is a pleasant place ...

Re: Where's the Protein?

Good advice. I suppose Thais get protein from meet & fish, but since I'm vegetarian, I'll probably be on a lower protein intake whilst in Thailand. In the UK, I notice whey protein is one of those commodities where Holland & Barret play big games with the price. The standard price for their ...

Re: Winner Boys A GoGo Bar is coming to Sunee Plaza

I don't see the purpose of the ping pong balls.

There are a few other ways of bringing fun to the gogo bars. The towel night in Vasa worked well just as long as there were one or two prepared to play games like trying to sneakily disrobe their colleagues.

Re: Where did Boys Not Wear Swimming Trunks in 1952?

I would argue that topless women is not equivalent to naked males on the arbitrary scale of what society accepts.

However, that would be going off topic & young men swimming naked is a much better topic to think about.

Re: Where did Boys Not Wear Swimming Trunks in 1952?

What annoys me is women going naked at the beach believing that it is their right to strip off as they wish. Again it's a cultural sort of thing where here in Thailand it is definitely frowned upon. Yet it is tolerated in many places. Meantime, let men go naked on the beach (apart from in dedicated...

Re: Where did Boys Not Wear Swimming Trunks in 1952?

Well it's all on a sliding scale & cannot be rationalized. There are parks in cities like Berlin & Munich where people of both genders sunbathe nude. It's common for men to bathe topless, whilst women cover up. Even there, as far as I understand it, the minimum size bra covers only the nippl...

Re: Where did Boys Not Wear Swimming Trunks in 1952?

I'm with Fountainhall on this. Whether the subject is discussed on a gay chat room or pops up in a google search, well, what's the difference ? The whole concept of nudity is merely one of culture. We were born nude. Most animals remain that way for life. The norms in our society ebb & flow. In ...

Re: How Addicted to Thailand are you?

Whether war breaks out or not, it's difficult to envisage North Korea firing any of it's missiles into Thailand. At least not intentionally. Also North Korea is so far away, I wouldn't think the US would be wanting to run bombing raids from airfields in Thailand. This Friday I will be making my thir...

Re: 360 Boy bar reopens..

Well, Thai or Farang, I could not ever see a businessman of the calibre of (say) say Warren Buffet or Ray Dalio investing in a gogo bar. No moat, low margins & un-predictable donations to the authorities required. So I'm not surprised we see some poor management decisions in this sector. Typical...
