Re: China Fails to Keep Its Word

Which specific sanctions agreement has China broken and how have they broken it ? I know Mr Trump made accusations, but is there some credible evidence ? A Taiwan registered ship and a Hong Kong registered ship transferring oil does not mean China is controlling the trade. Entrepreneurs also like to...

Re: Which is the Best Dating App in Bangkok?

I'm not sure about Blued in Bangkok, but when I fired it up in Pattaya, the only guy who contacted me seemed to be promoting video sex. And he kept contacting me. Of course, I don't got to Pattaya for the video variety, so I disabled the app. In many places in the world, Grindr seems very popular, i...

Re: Iran: Diary of a Journey

Disposing of current leadership is one challenge. Then they need to install honest & competent replacement leaders. That part often goes wrong, as one lot of corrupt self serving leaders is often followed by another. Once you have leaders who create the conditions required for economic growth, o...

Re: Railroad Link - Bangkok to Phnom Penh - to launch in early 2018

I thought there had been several failed promises for opening this line in recent years. Since the latest announcements come with no specific dates, I expect the probability of it happening in 2018 is very low. Also, having ridden a small section of the line on a "bamboo" train, I would say...

I'm not sure how many note designs are current, but the Kasikorn machine in the Silom Complex took a mix of 2 types of 1000 baht note with no problems.

From recent experience, there would be no shortage of Filipinos looking to hook up with a farang.

Re: Thai coins to be replaced with image of H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn

A practical question, for those of us who may hold a few thousand baht in cash from one trip to the next: Does Thailand have any history of rapidly taking old notes out of circulation after a new style is introduced? I presume not, as there is already more than one thousand baht note style (for all ...

Re: Removal of stitches in Pattaya ?

Well that all makes sense. I had my suspicions about Google maps in this part of town. I've sent them some corrections on other things, but will leave the street numbers to the experts. The advice was very useful. I was in & out in a few minutes. Without that, I might have gone to some hospital ...

Arrival at Utapao

Arrived on Sunday evening, from KL, which is one of the few international destinations served that could be interesting for members. Bussed to the terminal. The RH doors were used to discharge passengers. Despite having bet on the LH doors, the walk to the terminal was sufficient for me to be the fi...

Re: Removal of stitches in Pattaya ?

I didn't find a clinic on Soi17 although I stopped walking at the demolition site by Howard's. However at the top of the soi, one was visible just down the next soi (sip chet on Google maps). Guess that's the one you mean.
Job done for about 200 baht. Thanks for the advice.
