Re: Iceland Seeking to Ban Male Circumcision

I don't see much logic applied to religions. Furthermore, if the followers did apply logic & independent reasoning, the number following religions would decline markedly. As for the circumcision bill, waiting until people are over 18 and can decide for themselves is not religious discrimination....

Re: Iceland Seeking to Ban Male Circumcision

That would be an excellent law. Ban circumcision of under 18s & jail any parent responsible for forcing it on their offspring.

Over 18s can do what they like.

Re: Soi Twilight to be Demolished in June/July for Redevelopment?

I were one of those bar owners and did intend to reopen at another location, I'd be taking a serious look at Pattaya. That simply doesn't work for all the people who live in or are visiting Bangkok. Any bar relocating to Pattaya loses all the Bangkok customers & is competing with the other Patt...

Re: Soi Twilight to be Demolished in June/July for Redevelopment?

If they manage to squeeze into Patpong (like Screwboys) & in between Tawan & The Golden Cock/Nature Boys, then we still have some kind of proximity of the bars. I am surprisingly unconcerned about this. OK, Classic Boys has gets my "best selection of twinks" award on over 50% of my...

Re: Restaurant "Improvements"

Adding VAT and service charges to the bill is irritating. You have no choice but to pay it, so it should be included in the pricing just as a principle. In the UK, for any business selling predominantly to individuals (rather than businesses), it's a legal requirement to display prices with VAT &...

Re: Soi Twilight to be Demolished in June/July for Redevelopment?

The bars will probably benefit from being in close proximity to each other, as tourists are not going to want to travel too far from bar to bar. So I hope they find somewhere close. Screw Boys manages OK a short distance away & no doubt more bars can find premises there or along the same soi as ...

Nice to see they are policing important stuff like dart boards, rather than, for example, the minor issue of hazardous driving, which causes a few fatalities.

This is not something the majority of us board members will need to worry about again.

Oh and thanks for the reports.

Re: Do they really want this to work

What I have seen of the Thai train network is an odd mix. The train from places like Phitsanulok & Ayyuthaya to Bangkok is a cheap & comfortable way to travel, probably lot faster than the buses. Think my GPS showed it doing over 75mph, which is not Shinkansen territory, but likely to be fas...

Re: smog in pattaya

Except for the masks with a valve, any simple filter element will work both ways. Most of the masks I see with a valve have that valve for breathing out. The key issue is what size particles these things actually filter out (the engineering part) and which are the most harmful (the biology). I belie...
