Re: Boeing 737 Max8 Crashes

I understand from what I have been reading that unlike virtually all other systems on all aircraft, the new MCAS system might not have redundancy back up. This would be remarkable. Even in road vehicles, safety critical systems should either have a safe failure mode or redundancy. In an aircraft, i...

Re: High Speed Airport Rail Link coming (maybe)

I suspect this will involve pouring vast amounts of concrete, lining some pockets of shareholders in concrete companies, then allowing the incompetent state monopoly of SRT to run a shitty rail service that doesn't provide the full economic benefit that the investment should provide.

Re: Patatya - Asia’s Capital of Sex, Crime and Suicide

The guy posting that seems so negative on Pattaya, he should probably just tootle off to live somewhere else. But wherever he goes on the planet, I doubt he would be happy.
Thankfully we can just shut down his website and never return.

Re: crazy

I undersand the topic title, since the whole story is somewhat crazy. It makes no sense. Your BF PURCHASES some DVD games and he is the one who has infringed copyright rules. Assuming these are illegal copies, wouldn't the seller normally be the one the authorities go after ? Such an enormous fine i...

Re: Boeing 737 Max8 Crashes

Why am I not surprised? Having worked as an engineer, I'm somewhat surprised, since self certification of all the detail within the systems is pretty common in all sorts of safety critical systems in various industries. Most engineers and their management recognize that they are working on safety c...

Re: crazy

I had a bar boy on the back on my motorbike once It is very easy if it's a bar boy. You have no emotional attachment and can make rational decisions. If he's failed a drugs test, that's his problem & whether or not he is acting in concert with the police doesn't matter. He still deserves nothing fr...

Re: crazy

One very serious scam.
100,000 baht for a copyright infringement in a country where fake products are sold all over the place and no one seems to care about it.

Re: Tourism is Literally Killing Bali

Thank you for the post Fountainhall. It sounds like Bali was a fine place to visit at the time. A few things come to mind here. 1 When looking for a southern hemisphere holiday destination, Bali immediately comes to mind. I'm currently figuring out when I might go there. However, perhaps it would be...
