Re: Tokyo Hotels Shinjuku

Last time, I stayed at the Tokyu Stay Shinjuku. That was brand new, stylish & very close to the gay area, although the rooms are tiny (no problem at all for me). On an earlier trip, several years ago, I stayed at the somewhat cheaper City Hotel Lonestar. That was VERY small, & lying on the b...

Re: Thai Court Rules Against Airbnb

Well, assuming there is some enforcement, that's going to take quite a bit of supply out of the accommodation market. There are also apartments for rent in places like City Gardens as well. For those booking in for more than 30 days, perhaps it might be easier to find places at a nice rate. Or, alte...

Re: Read the Bible - It's Your Punishment

Religion in schools is a big problem for society. Firstly, it promotes religion, well at least to the less analytical pupils. Secondly, it is a form of sectarianism & does not help to promote a cohesive society. Thirdly, religion is hardly ever taught without bias. Anyone who gathers expertise i...

Re: Read the Bible - It's Your Punishment

Re: Farang Pays 10 Million Baht to Marry Thai Boyfriend

The condos might turn out to be a good rational investment (not that I would buy one).

That's quite different from the topic of the opening post, where someone is probably being fleeced & can kiss his money good bye.

Re: Farang Pays 10 Million Baht to Marry Thai Boyfriend

Wealthy people tend to be more careful with their money, so I would say it's more likely Undaunted is right.

Perhaps he is another Bill Gates, bit I think that's less likely.

Re: Farang Pays 10 Million Baht to Marry Thai Boyfriend

Amazing how reckless people can be with their own money. I imagine the only way this relationship will keep going is with continuing further cash gifts. This analysis may be harsh, but if there was lots of true love, the lad would insist on NOT having a large dowry. Also, if 10 million baht was inve...

Re: Brits Most Likely to be Arrested in L.O.S. Mental Health Issues Cited

If Brits are the most likely people to get arrested in Thailand, could that simply be because there are substantially more Brits in Thailand than foreigners from other countries? That is NOT what the data reports. The data is actually saying Thailand is the destination where British travellers are ...

Re: Beware! Braun Electric Shavers

UK 2015 consumer rights act requires products to have appropriate durability. Who decides that and how is it decided? Well, I think you can go to the small claims court, although it would be wise to check the history for similar claims. The threat should make most companies back down, particularly ...

Re: Beware! Braun Electric Shavers

There are many similar complaints to yours on the Amazon website Review page. If there are common failures, then clearly any customer in a country with effective consumer protection legislation should go after Braun for a refund. For example, the UK 2015 consumer rights act requires products to hav...
